📌 What This Means
This error indicates that signer provider referenced in the document doesn’t have the necessary permissions in AthenaHealth because they:
- Do not exist or have been deleted in AthenaHealth
- Are not designated as a supervising provider
- Are not assigned to the same provider group as department referenced
📣 What to Do in case provider doesn’t have access to a department
To be able to submit claims for these providers You need to :
- 1. If the provider is part of the correct org on Suture : Add him to that org on Athena and click Fix in Suture Alerts to submit the claim again (See guide below)
- 2. If the provider is not part of that org and the info on Athena is correct : You should Use the Suture Org admin account to update the provider assignment to orgs so that this issue doesn’t happen in the future and for this pending claim you have to submit it manually in Athena and let us know to delete the alert.
📋 Assign a provider to a specific department on AthenHealth
- Go to settings > Billing
- On the sidebar click on
Provider Drop-Downs
tab - Select the departments that the providers have access to
- The columns are the providers and rows are department You need to match by clicking on the check box
